A Cab Is A Workplace

A private vehicle is used for an hour a day. A commercial three-wheeler is used until the driver goes home. That single difference should be visible in every decision.

The LIMOSA seats a driver plus three. The TEJASHVI NW seats a driver plus four. Both are places of work before they are anything else, and the design brief followed from that rather than from styling.

What the driver touches

A proper windscreen with wipers, doors that lock, mirrors that survive a crowded lane, parking brakes, and a water bottle holder positioned where a hand actually falls. On the TEJASHVI NW there is a digital display, a security alarm, a high-torque gear, and a reverse camera with its own screen.

The reverse camera is the one that changes the day. Backing a loaded passenger three-wheeler into a stand, repeatedly, in traffic, with people aboard, is the single most stressful thing the driver does. Removing that stress is worth more than any amount of exterior detailing.

Design for the eleventh hour of the shift, not the first minute of the showroom.

What the passenger touches

Handrails and handholds, grab rails at the entry, a comfort seating area, and on the LIMOSA a properly finished hood interior rather than exposed frame and fasteners. Passengers board and alight dozens of times a day; the places their hands land are the places that get worn, and they should have been designed rather than left over.

Lighting as equipment

Projector LED headlights, LED DRLs and LED lighting on the rear-view mirrors. On a vehicle that works before dawn and after dusk, in unlit lanes, lighting is not a trim level. It is the difference between being seen and not.

Alloy rims on a working vehicle

The TEJASHVI NW runs alloy wheel rims on 12-inch tubed tyres. On a commercial three-wheeler that reads as vanity until you consider who is looking at it: the passenger deciding which of four identical autos to get into. A vehicle that looks cared for gets chosen.
